Welcome back everyone! I hope you all had a great holiday and are refreshed and ready for lots of learning and fun filled activities this half term!
Our topic this half term is 'Why can’t a Meerkat live in the North Pole?' and we will be reading Meerkat Mail written by Emily Gravett. We will be writing postcards, using speech bubbles, letters home and making a passport. Lots of fun ahead!
In Science we will be looking at seasonal changes and what it is like to live in the North Pole and in the desert. Where would you prefer to live?
In Art and DT we will be mixing primary colours to make secondary colours and making collages out of different materials for the desert and the North Pole. So get your thinking caps on!
Please can I remind you that your child's reading book needs to be in school every day, so if we have the opportunity we can listen to your child read additionally throughout the week. Reading is important and if you have the time we would appreciate it if you could listen to your child read at home. Thank you.
PE day is Monday and we ask for your child to wear the correct PE Kit (white T-shirt, blue shorts and black pumps) and could you please label it clearly. We will send PE Kits home each half term so they can be washed and returned after the holidays for the next half term.
Homework is given out Fridays and this half term it will be a list of spellings for your child to learn at home over the week. They will be tested Friday mornings on their spellings and then a new set of spellings will be given out and stuck in their homework books for the next week. Please make sure they hand their homework in on Wednesdays.
Please feel free to get in touch at any time. Miss Cornforth is available to speak to you on the door in the mornings and I am always available at the end of the school day.
