WORLD WATER DAY - MARCH 2018
We stand with Cape Town! After returning from Cape Town, we were very saddened to hear about the imminent Day Zero and we wanted to show solidarity to our partner schools. We had a whole school assembly all about the water crisis in Cape Town. The children were made aware of the drought and how important it is to save water. We asked the children to try and not use water for one hour and we also ran a poster competition asking the children to get creative and design posters encouraging our school to save water. There were some amazing poster and they are proudly displayed around our school and most importantly, in our school bathrooms.

ORIGINAL T BAG DESIGNS
Whilst in Cape Town visiting Zwaanswyk Academy, Miss Conner and Miss Johnston visited a company called Original T Bag designs. Prior to our arrival the whole school had been working hard to raise large amounts of tea bags to donate to the T Bag initiative. To show unity, two children, who had worked effortlessly to raise awareness and counted all of the tea bags were selected to visit the Original T Bag company to donate the vast amount of tea bags that the whole school had collected. We were given a tour and the children were rewarded with an item each for their efforts.
At Fairfield Road each child has been given the opportunity to create their own original tea bag design, we have made our school logo using the tea bags. You can see this beautiful creation in our school foyer.
