At Fairfield Road, children are inspired and enthused to write imaginatively through the study of quality texts and stimuli along with a range of contexts for writing with clear and meaningful purposes and audiences.

FRPS/BBC 500 Words Competition 2024
We received a mountain of entries for our in-school competition this year and you can see our winners below. We are also delighted to announce that one of our pupils, Ash, has made it all the way to the final 50 nationally in the BBC competition and has been invited to Buckingham Palace! More to follow on that!


The Tunnel - Whole-school writing stimulus (Autumn 2024)
To kick off the new school year, each class undertook a study of the book, The Tunnel by Anthony Browne. All year groups produced some narrative writing based on the story and you can see a showcase of work in our school hall.
