Droylsden Library

The closest library to our school is Droylsden Library on Manchester Road.

If you are unsure of where it is, check out Miss Docherty's 'how to' guide below:

There is a children's area with a wide variety of fiction and non-fiction books for children to choose from. Becoming a member is so easy. Just pop in and ask if you can join-it's free. Scroll down for special library news!

Wow! Look at the new Droylsden Library!

There are so many books, work stations and computers for our pupils to use!

When is the library open?

Monday 9am–1pm

Tuesday Closed

Wednesday Closed

Sunday Closed

It is less than a 10 minute walk from our school gate. It isn't too far from the big, red clock in Droylsden and the post office!

Tick tock: Next time you are by the clock, see if you can spot the new library building!

Droylsden Library has turned a new page. The Manchester Road building that was in use for 84 years closed on Saturday, August 28, and on Thursday, September 9, the service reopened in the smart, modern surroundings of next-door Guardsman Tony Downes House.

Above: Guardsman Tony Downes House will be the new home to Droylsden Library from September 2021

Special events (This event has now ended):

There is a fantastic summer reading challenge for all children to take part in.
All you have to do is go to the library 3 times over the summer and read 6 books. Children can take 2 books out at a time! It’s really easy to join the library! Pop in any time. Children are rewarded with cool stickers, a book mark, a fridge magnet and a certificate! There is also a chance to win a book token worth £40! It would be great if all of our children could take part. Keeping up with reading for pleasure over the summer will help children with their vocabulary acquisition and imagination! Good luck guys! Anyone who completes the challenge will win a medal and they will receive 10 dojos in September!
